Notepad not saving notes

Now, I'm a very forgetful person. A notepad feature is EXACTLY what I need.
Unfortunately, my Notepad on my ENV2 will not save notes after, I think a day.
I'm not the only one with this problem, but with the admittedly limited research I did, apparently many people are having trouble pinpointing the issue. I don't know the version of firmware or whatever, all I know is it's an ENV2 that I just got recently, and it doesn't have a Micro SD card in it. If I had to guess, it's probably either that it doesn't have a card in it (although this seems illogical) or that I need to update something.
So, anyone know what the problem is?
