Earphones

Hey guys, today I bought my new env2. I have a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, so I could listen to music and videos through my normal 3.5mm earphones. However, once connected, the sound only goes through the left side of my earphones.

And no, these earphones are not broken, since it works on a few other devices. And no, these are not crappy earphones. Any help? Grin

Update: Btw, my adapter is 3ringed on the female (2.5mm) side.

Well, nvm. I figured it out. My earphones had 2 rings for left channel, right channel, and ground. My adapter had 3 rings for those 3 AND microphone. Well thanks for helping everyone! haha wow.

For anyone else who runs across this topic, I would recommend buying a headphone adaptor that is advertised as being specifically made for this phone. There are several for sale on eBay and Amazon really cheap. Search for enV2 head* adapt* just like that (because of alternate spellings as some listings use "headset" and some use "headphone" or "headphones" or spell either of the preceding as two words, and either "adapter" and "adaptor" is acceptable) and you should find them. They seem to have a different specification from your typical 4-contact to 3-contact adaptor, and certainly aren't a regular 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor. The last time I looked, there's a seller selling two in one package for $1.40.

Although that would be useful, it is unnecessary. Specifically for the env2 Vx9100, you must FIRST check that your current headphones and your future earphones is 2 ringed (because most 3.5mm headphones are). SECONDLY, you must check that the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter is also 2 ringed. I figured this out from online research and comments haha.

You can search for "lg env2 2.5mm adapter", but it might just be a big reason to rise up the price. Undecided

The Westone 3 sits at the top in a very comfortable position, being the first true 3-way triple driver earphones with universal fit. The UM3X is also a 3-way triple driver with a slight "bump" on the lower end, clear vocals and great soundstage. Shure SE530 in-ear headphones and the earphones UM2 tied in second place.
