Hi
« on: February 03, 2009, 11:51:39 AM »

I'm new to the forum. Been using cells since '98 but never tried to use one to listen to music. Thought the env2 would do want I wanted but no luck, so I signed up here
to see if anyone has the answer to my question.

I'm a working musician and often learn songs for the band while I'm going about my daily routine. Would love not to have to lug around a mp3 and a phone

You need a SDmicro card, put the card in to the phone, then format it.

To format the card: Menu > Settings > Memory > Card Memory > Options > Format

After that you can either use BitPim or take your card out of the phone and into your computer, if your computer doesn't support SDmicro card then you will need an adaptor, most SDmicro cards comes with an adpator.

Once you've inserted the card to the computer, you should see some folders, the one that says MY_MUSIC is the folder where you put all the MP3 in.

Next take the card out of your computer then back in the phone, in your phone you should have a music player, TELUS users have TELUS mobile music, Verizon im guessing would be Verizon mobile music or Music Player. Then It will load which takes a couple of seconds then you can start playing.

I have the TELUS version of this phone and I have about 40 songs on it and works pretty good.

You can also transfer by Bluetooth if your computer is Bluetooth enabled, my computer isn't so don't really know how to do this.

Transfering MP3 on to the SDmicro card by taking it out of the phone and on to the computer I find it pretty easy.

Instead of copying my music directly from the computer to the MicroSD card, I usually use the Sync Music feature on Windows Media Player to sync my music from my computer's library to the phone.  Doing it that way will automatically convert any files that aren't compatible with the phone's music player, and it puts the album cover art on the phone so that it displays in the music library on the phone and while the music is playing.

Also, you will want to refer to the link below if you intend to use stereo headphones with your enV2 that have a 3.5mm plug:
