I set a lock code on my phone (not the keyboard lock, but the security lock where you have to type 4 digits), but I can't find a convenient way to lock the phone? So far I've found two ways to do it:

1) Set power-on lock then turn the phone off and on. This is 20 seconds that I really don't feel like spending locking the phone.

2) Do it through the menu. Even with the menu numbers memorized this is still pretty weird. Currently to lock it I must open the phone, press 'Menu', then press 9-6-6-*-*-*-*-4 (where **** is lock code) to lock the phone. Opening the phone then hitting 9 buttons is sort of quick but not really my idea of convenient...

Isn't there a shortcut key or something to lock the phone? I can't see the point of having a phone lock in the first place if there's no good way to lock it...

Thanks,
M

On the external keypad press and hold pound (#). You have to do this while the keypad is not locked or it won't work. If you look at the pound key you will see there's a little lock sign on it.

I don't think this is correct... do you not have the same Env2 as me?

The # key on the front keypad has a picture of a vibrating phone on it. Pressing it and holding it toggles the phone between silent vibrate-only mode and ringing mode. It doesn't lock the phone. Is there some setting that makes # behave differently...?

Thanks,
M

There is no easy way to lock the phone.
This was once a feature on the old enV's but they took it away for some reason on the enV2.

Our LG 9100 is known as a Keybo in Canada and it is configured as Bugmenot describes it by using the # key we can lock the phone.
